A few years back I created a host of GM memes to combat the slew of bullshit coming from the anti-gm nuts. They were kept on my old bands page, but as the host is now about to disappear, I’m moved them to here.
Here is the first collection of GM food memes.
Another short series. This time, interviews with scientists and politicians about the role of evidence in decision making and whether MP’s are capable of making scientific decisions. Do politicians understand science? How is evidence used when making policies?
In 2012 I became rather obsessed with both the Khan Academy and the neuroscience of consciousness, the result of this dual fascination was this series of videos. They are basic blackboard based short lessons on introductory neuroscience of consciousness.
Lessons look at various neurological perceptive disorders like visual agnosia and prosopagnosia (which are fascinating as hell!), introduces qualia and problems of consciouess, and then moves toward understanding neurons and their role in perception.
The series is incomplete but still worth a watch for those interested and for students. Enjoy!
